We believe that this refers to Norman Bennett, born on 10th October 1902 to Harry Bennett, an electroplater and silversmith and Annie, a dressmaker. He was working as a stainless polisher at Albert Works, Sidney Street from 1936 to 1941.In August and October of 1939, he ran a series of small ads in the Sheffield Daily Telegraph looking for Mirror Polishers: “Mirror Polishing – GIRLS wanted for Glazing.
