This firm apparently traded during the interwar period as a silversmiths and medal makers at Ely Place, Charterhouse, London EC1. Cased carving sets marked ‘John Taylor & Co, Ely Place’ have survived, containing steel carving knife and fork and electro-plated fish carvers (all the pieces Sheffield hallmarked with silver ferrules). Little information has been found so far on this company, though an unconfirmed source states that the partners were John Cyril Taylor and William Charles Taylor. Its ‘success....
