Samuel Ardron (c.1782-1860), the son of Thomas and Ann, was born in Laughton-en-le-Morthen, near Rotherham. By 1833, he was listed in Sheffield as a horn scale presser in Burgess Street. A partnership with George Lee was dissolved in 1835. Samuel Ardron’s son – also named Samuel (1807-1881) – became a white metal smith.
