David Cadman, who was baptised in 1737, was the son of Luke and Alice Cadman of Oxclose Farm (see Thomas R. Cadman). In 1749, he started his apprenticeship to Luke Cadman, his brother, and became a Freeman in 1758. His trade mark was ‘SENEGAL’ or ‘SENEGALL’, which he stamped on the razors that became his speciality. He was working in Backfields in 1774.
