Henry Francis (1842-1923) was a spring knife cutler. His early years are obscure: possibly in 1851 he was living in Ranmoor with his mother, Mary Ann, who had married Joseph Himsworth, a scissors forger. By 1861, Henry was an apprentice cutler in Orchard Street and then became a spring knife worker until the early 1890s, when he established himself in Central Works, West Street.
