Jonathan Loy
Several Loys were listed as Freemen in Leader (1905-6) and in early Sheffield directories. in 1787, Jonathan Loy was a manufacturer of table knives in Coalpit Lane, using the mark ‘LOY’. By 1797, the business was styled ‘& Son’. Jonathan was buried in St Peter & St Paul churchyard on 2 May 1804. In 1811, Sarah Loy was listed as a table knife cutler at that address. ....
