Thomas Ward
A spring knife manufacturer, Thomas Ward was born in about 1833. He operated throughout his career from Brightmore Street, Brookhill. The date when he launched his business is unknown, but by 1855 he displayed his products at the Paris Exhibition using that address. At the International Exhibition in London in 1862, Ward’s pocket knives were also on display. His business was listed until the early 1880s, when Ward lived in Alpine Road, Upperthorpe.
