A. Wright & Sons was established in 1947 at Midland Works, Sidney Street, by Arthur Wright and his son (also named Arthur). It was a traditional pen and pocket knife manufacturer, which also produced scissors and Bowie and sheath knives. Budding and pruning knives were a speciality, besides painters’ tools, such as scrapers, and palette knives. The trade name was ‘BARONET’. The firm sometimes contracted pocket knives from Stan Shaw.
