In 1815, silver platers Battie, Howard & Hawksworth registered a silver mark from Charles Street. The partners were William Battie, William Howard, and John Smith Hawksworth (1794-1858). Battie may have been a former member of George Battie & Bros. Hawksworth was the son of John (a merchant), and his wife, Hannah.
