Ernest Henry Danson (1888-1979) was born at Wigan, the son of Thomas and Ellen. Like his father, Ernest worked as a railway spring maker. In the Sheffield directory (1919), though, Ernest’s name was listed as a fried fish dealer at Langsett Road. But in about 1920, he became a scissors maker based in a courtyard in Edward Street.
