Albert Wilson was born on 4 February 1836, the son of Charles, a razor smith of George Street, and his wife, Sarah. Albert followed his father’s trade and became a master razor hafter. In the early 1870s, he briefly partnered George Ibberson. When that was dissolved, Albert operated his own business, which was eventually based in Bowden Street.
