Jewel Razor Company Ltd
The Jewel Razor Co was started in 1929 by Arnold Abbott (1910-1990), though it was registered under his father’s name (John Abbott). Arnold (who was born in Castleton, Derbyshire) had worked for Nelson Tool Co and Darwins. He began making safety razors, using German materials and machines, in an upstairs room at a house in Lescar Lane.
