This scissors maker was listed in the Sheffield directory (1774) at Burgess Street, using the trade mark ‘WARD’. He apparently died in about 1780, because in the directory of 1787 ‘Widow’ Ward was a maker of ‘common scissors’ at Burgess Street, with the same mark.
