Axe & Wright appeared in a directory in 1921 at Trafalgar Street, as a manufacturer of stainless table cutlery and cutlery canteens. The partners were George Arthur Axe (1894-1969) and John William Wright. Axe was the son of Arthur, a file forger, and his wife, Clara.
