Frederick Charles (1865-1933) and Arthur Asman (1867-1944) were Sheffield-born sons of Alfred Asman, a Birmingham-born electro-plate manager (d. 1901, aged 68). In 1899, a silver mark was registered by Frederick C. Asman & Co, Cambridge Street. The firm was a silver and electro-plater there until the 1930s, managed by Fred and Arthur.
