Charles Barber (1860-1932) was the son of George (a blade forger), and his wife, Harriet. Charles became a table knife cutler, who was in business in Rockingham Street by 1895. By 1901, he traded from 76 Backfields. Charles and his wife, Annie E. Bramall, had two sons – Tom (1878-1949) and Charles Jun. (1880-1938) – who joined the firm.
