Arthur Bell & Company
Arthur Bell (c.1849-1925) was born in Sheffield, the son of Matthew Bell. Arthur became a cutlery manager – possibly working for his father – but by 1871 was listed as a table knife manufacturer in West Street. Arthur Bell & Co, Columbia Works, West Street, appeared in a list of Bowie knife makers in a directory (1876). Arthur’s firm disappeared from directories, though he continued as a cutlery manager.
