The Briddons arrived in Sheffield from Manchester in about 1861. They registered a silver mark in 1863 from Victoria Plate Works, Eyre Lane and Arundel Street. In 1867, they registered another mark, composed of the initials of the senior partners: Alfred Abraham Briddon (1838-1898) and Frank Briddon (1840-1901).
