This silversmith and electro-plater was founded in 1877 by John Thomas Griffiths Pinder (1854-1931) and Charles Edward Pinder (1857-1937). They were the sons of George William Pinder, a prosperous silversmith, and Ellen neé Nodder. The company tried various locations (including Rockingham Lane, where it registered a silver mark in 1888), before settling in Court 4 at 48 Garden Street.
