Edley & Ayre Ltd
This cutlery manufacturer was formed in about 1922 at Foreman Works, Jessop Street. One partner was George Edley (1883-1965), who was the son of William (a comb maker) and his wife Esther (see Edley Bros). The other partner was Walter Harvey Ayre (1886-1951), who had been born in Rotherham. Edley & Eyre became a limited company in 1939 and was liquidated in 1951. ....
