Whilst we have a knife from this manufacturer in the Collection, we have been unable to definitively identify the company.
Initial research has identified Hugh Dunsheath (1860-1937) listed in the 1911 census as a 'cutlery manufacturer and repr of silver plated & cutlery goods' living at 11 Woodbank Crescent, Meersbrook. He was still living there in 1920 when White's Directory of Sheffield 1919-20 identifies him as a silver polisher. Hugh was born in Sheffield, the son of Benjamin Dunsheath (1829-1881), a silver polisher and buffer born in Ireland who was living in a Court off New George Street. Hugh married Anna Hoyland (1858-1947) in October 1882 and when he died they were living at 69 Cobnar Road, Woodseats.
