We believe this knife was made in Sheffield however we have not been able to identify the specific manufacturer.
'Best English Cutlery' was a marketing slogan, which appeared on table knives particularly in the 1920s (when mass-market, mass-produced stainless first appeared). It was not associated with any particular maker. In fact, makers or sellers of knives like this usually avoided using their names. The quality was considered to be inferior and they could be (and were) prosecuted by the Company of Cutlers. Woolworth's was one retailer which was fined for selling 'Best English Cutlery' like this.
