This firm was incorporated in 1977. It was a merger between two family businesses in the manufacture of silver and nickel-silver handles for table cutlery: the Beatsons (F. Beatson & Sons Ltd) and the Drakes (Drake & Son). One of the directors was Alan Bosworth Drake (born 1937). In 1992, it acquired the ‘SNIP SNAP’ trade mark, which had once been used by Richards Bros on pocket knives, scissors, and table cutlery. Beatson Drake traded from various addresses, but eventually became part of Nickel Blanks. It shared its parent’s fate, when it was dissolved in 2009.
