John Hoult (who was Master Cutler in 1813) was apparently involved in Wingfield Rowbotham. In 1811, Hoult, Rowbotham & Wingfield was listed in White Croft. In 1818, Hoult withdrew. He apparently became a successful paper manufacturer and died at Wadsley Bridge on 27 June 1834, aged 66 (Sheffield Independent, 28 June 1834). He was buried in Longstone Church, Derbyshire. A plaque was placed in St Mary’s Church, Ecclesfield; and he also featured in the diary of T. A. Ward (Bell, 19091).
