George Henry Sellers (c.1860-1946) was born in Sheffield. He was apparently the son of Walter Sellers, a night watchman, and his wife, Ann. In 1881, the family lived in Penistone Road, when George Henry was working as a steam hammer driver. By 1891, he was forging table blades (and was a greengrocer). He later worked for himself forging blades and by 1922 Sellers & Co was listed at Court 15, Hollis Croft. G. H. Sellers & Co was later formed and Sellers found a partner in Robert Frank Slater. But their partnership in Hollis Croft was dissolved in 1933. Sellers continued to operate until the outbreak of the Second World War, but was not listed after the war. George Henry Sellers, of Trap Lane, Ecclesall, died at Herries Road on 10 April 1946, aged 86. He left £1,339.
