This firm was apparently established after the Second World War. It was listed in 1948 at 72 Arundel Street as a maker of ‘high-class table cutlery’, and electro-plated nickel silver spoons and forks. In 1951, its Sheffield address was 14 Sheldon Street, but the company’s registered office was in Foster Lane, London. This address was shared with another tableware maker, M. Berger & Co Ltd, which also advertised as a maker of surgical scissors and forceps. Government orders from home and over-seas were evidently an important source of work. In 1953, Anchor Cutlery (and presumably Berger) were liquidated.
