Larder died on 20 March 1928, leaving £5,584, and was buried at Burngreave (Sheffield Daily Independent, 24 March 1928). The firm became ‘Ltd’ in 1929 (capital £5,000). Vernon Burgess died in Sheffield on 1 February 1932, leaving £3,853. In 1935, when Charles Dennis Larder (John’s son) was chairman, the firm was liquidated. Its marks included: ‘ADMIRAL’, ‘DAZZLEX’, ‘TRIUMPH’, ‘PRESIDENT’, and ‘MARQUIS’.
