This firm was apparently launched in the late 1920s by Francis Henry Dyson (1893-1934), a table knife manufacturer in Hollis Croft. In 1933, he registered a patent for carving forks. Francis Henry Dyson, Meersbrook Road, died in Sheffield at The Royal Infirmary on 8 September 1934, aged 41, leaving £1,579 to his widow Marjory Mary. F. H. Dyson continued to be listed at Talbot Works, Milton Street, until the outbreak of the Second World War. Apparently, a factory was planned in Harwood Street in 1945 as a limited company, manufacturing table knives, but it was not listed thereafter.
